About Us

NEW FOR 2020/2021 SEASON:

The Lakehead University Dance Team is excited to announce that we will be up & running for the 2020/2021 school year- however, it’ll look a bit different than years past! We are committed to working within the health and safety guidelines provided by Lakehead University and Thunder Bay District Health Unit by offering virtual drop-in dance classes.

Here is some information on how the Team will run this year:

  • The LUDT will be running remotely for the 2020/2021 season through drop-in classes. All classes will be delivered via an online platform (ex. Zoom) by a LUDT Drop-In Teacher.

  • The LUDT Drop-In Teacher applications will open on Friday August 21, 2020 at 8am and will close on Friday September 4, 2020 at 10pm. (APPLY HERE)

  • The role of a LUDT Drop-In Teacher is to choreograph and teach a 1 hour virtual class per month. A schedule will be made once the roster is finalized. The date, time, style, and difficulty level is up to the discretion of the LUDT Drop-In Teacher.

  • A schedule will be posted on a monthly basis of all the LUDT Drop-In classes being offered.

  • LUDT Membership is available for $25 for the year. This membership allows unlimited access to LUDT Drop-In classes for the 2020/2021 school year (September-April). Drop-In Class passes are also available, 3 classes for $5. All payments will be made via e-transfer.

However, if you're wondering how we used to run, here is some more information!

The Lakehead Dance Team is a student run club that can be accessed on campus at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay. Over the years the team has performed during half times for the Men's and Women's Basketball teams, at local dance competitions, and at other community and private events. The team typically performs and trains in a number of styles including jazz funk, hip-hop, lyrical, and contemporary.
